Alignment with Frameworks

The Arkansas Studies Curriculum is a continuous, vertically-integrated whole and is tied to the Arkansas Department of Education frameworks in a thorough and systematic way.   Great pains have been taken to provide specific and explicit connections between particular Units of instruction and their individual Lesson Plans and the Arkansas Department of Education Frameworks.  The sample plans in the various Teacher’s Guides not only list specific Arkansas History and other 2006 Social Studies Student Expectations, but the 2003 English Language Arts Frameworks as well.  Mindful of the Department’s admonition that “The Goal for each student is proficiency in all requirements at current and previous grades” the Teacher’s Guides and Curriculum Maps reference lesson alignment with the Frameworks across grade levels.
